Ice Diver Course

Learn to become an ice diver or ice instructor, or both!

Where better to learn Ice diving then in Iceland?

Learn to become an ice diver or ice instructor, or both!

What could motivate a rational individual to engage in ice diving? We understand that you may have encountered comments from friends and acquaintances depicting you as foolish, irrational, or questioning your zest for life for undertaking this course.

However, the most common reasons for enrolling in an ice diving course are curiosity and the desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Here are some compelling arguments to counter objections:
• The thrill of new experiences and the urge to push personal boundaries in a controlled setting during the course. Ice diving is arguably one of the safest forms of diving, as you are securely attached to a line.
• Provides the opportunity for year-round diving for those of us residing in northern regions
• Grants access to new diving locations that may experience heavy boat traffic or diving restrictions during the summer, rendering them inaccessible
• Search and recovery of lost items becomes effortless!
• Photography enthusiasts will discover entirely new opportunities and techniques in ice diving
• Exceptional visibility offers a fresh perspective on familiar diving sites.

The course spans two days and takes place during the coldest winter months in Iceland, namely February/March. It consists of the following components:
Knowledge Development
Practical Application Ice Diver Training Dives (3-4)

Throughout the course, the following topics will be covered:
