Horseback riding and Silfra in one day
Fit two uniquely Icelandic experiences into one day! This tour combines a snorkeling tour of Silfra and a horsebackriding tour through Mosfells valley.
A snorkeling adventure in the famous Silfra fissure is an unforgettable experience, there is a reason TripAdvisor chose our Snorkeling Tour the No 4 experience in the world!
We can proudly state that DIVE.IS will offer you the best service level at Silfra. Let us tell you why:
- We have an extra person at Silfra assisting you before and after the snorkelling experience. We call this person Surface Support and they make sure your tour runs smoothly. They also provide extra safety for you and the guides.
- We built our own changing room so that our guests have the opportunity to dress up inside a heated changing van.
- After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies.
- Our guides are all experienced PADI divemasters and instructors that have been through professional training before running any of our tours.
The magical fissure Silfra was created when the earth was ripped open by the movement of tectonic plates. The fissure marks the divide between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates and it is filled with crystal clear glacial water. The underwater visibility is over 100 meters, which opens up spectacular views and mesmerising colors. You can read more about the Snorkeling Silfra Day Tour here.
At Laxnes Horse Farm you will go on a pleasurable ride through the beautiful valley of Mosfellsdalur. Horse enthusiasts will already know that the Icelandic horses are an extremely special and protected breed, but beginners are also welcome to join the horseback riding tour. You will be provided with riding equipment before you are handed one of their friendly and sure-footed Icelandic horses suitable for both beginners and experienced riders.

Snorkeling+Horseback Riding=A great day!
My 2 friends and I did the morning Snorkeling followed by the afternoon horseback riding. It was a truly unique experience. Our guide, Rudi, picked us up and then there was some confusion about where the other person he was picking up was staying. It was great to see the amount of effort that went into finding this person and making sure they wouldn't be left behind. Rudi was great! He told us stories and made sure we were entertained the whole time. He really helped make it a special trip. They drove us over to Laxnes Horse Farm after our snorkeling and we enjoyed a 2 hour horseback ride. An all around great experience! Definitely would recommend!

Frequently asked questions about our Snorkeling Silfra & Horseback Riding Combo Tour
Are photos always taken on the Diving Day Tours?
Our dive guides carry an underwater camera on most dives in Silfra and other dive sites. The dive guides try to take as many great underwater photographs as possible on these dives. However, safety comes always first and it can occur that the dive guide chooses to not distract him-/herself from dive safety on particular dives in difficult conditions or with insecure divers. In that case it might happen that few or no photos are taken. We hope for your understanding should this be the case.
Usually the photos of the dives are available for purchase after the dive tour. Please check out our Souvenir page for more info.
Can we see Gullfoss and Geysir on the Laxness Horse riding and Silfra combo tour?
