Laugarvatn Fontana Spa

The most relaxing thing you can do in Iceland

The real Icelandic experience

Take a dip in the world-renowned geothermal baths

Right in the middle of the popular Golden Circle route you find Laugarvatn Fontana Spa, a newly renovated geothermal bath that follows in the footsteps of the ancient Icelanders.

The Laugarvatn village has been famous in Iceland for centuries, thanks to the intense geothermal activity that allows visitors and locals alike to enjoy the relaxation and benefits of soaking in a hot pot.
Recently renovated, Fontana Spa offers several pools, steam rooms and saunas, all powered by the natural hot spring on top of which the spa was built. The most adventurous visitors also get the unique chance of taking a dip in the cold lake. Alternating the hot and cold temperature is an ancient practice, known to reinvgorate the muscles and blood circulation. Do you dare trying?

You can complement your day by adding a visit to the traditional geothermal bakery on site, or by including a delicious buffet lunch or dinner to your spa day.
