The PADI Divemaster Program is a program that gains you an entry level professional rating which prepares you for working in the dive industry worldwide.
This internship is for divers who are experienced and passionate about diving and want to begin their career as a dive guide and certified assistant.
The theoretical and practical training in the course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to lead certified divers on dive tours and assist PADI Instructors in Core and Continuing Education Courses. You will also learn about entry into the dive industry and how to progress in PADI’s Instructor System.
The course is divided into three sections: Knowledge Development, Skills Workshop and Development and your Practicum. These are all conducted concurrently.
The Knowledge Development is conducted through eight modules using the PADI Divemaster CrewPak and materials. This is completed via a combination of independent study and review sessions with your Instructor Mentor.
You will also participate in Skills Workshops to master your dive skills, evaluate your watermanship and develop and apply your practical skills as a Divemaster. The Skills Workshops are conducted periodically throughout your internship to provide an on-going picture of your progress.
The Practicum is an on-going application of the skills and knowledge you learn by accompanying the DIVE.IS team in the daily operation of the dive centre.
On Day and Multiple Day Tours you will learn the dive sites and use your learned skills in a real world environment. You will learn how to conduct and lead snorkel and dive tours and initiate positive follow up with your guests.
You will also assist in PADI Core and Continuing Education Courses as a Certified Assistant in training.
At DIVE.IS headquarters you will learn the logistics and operations of a dive centre and what goes into preparing and executing a successful tour or dive course.
Upon completion of the PADI Divemaster Internship you will be ready to join the ranks of quality PADI Members around the world, armed with the skills and knowledge needed as well as work experience with DIVE.IS.
